The Fairlady Z was launched in Japan in 1969 as a 1970 model car. Always commercialized under that name in Japan, the Fairlady Z was imported in North America under Datsun, a now defunct brand within Nissan. The end of the commercialization of the 300ZX ended its production until the 350Z (Z33) was launched as a 2003 model car. The most recent generation has been commercialized since the 2009 model year (Z34). More than ever, this one competes with the duo Cayman / Boxter of Porsche, since its size is increasingly similar (reduced length but increased width), it sports an even more powerful engine and it is still offered as a coupe and a convertible.
