Launched in 2006 as a 2007 model car, the Ferrari 599 is a "grand touring" vehicle, GTB standing for "Gran Turismo Berlinetta".  Its name comes from its 5.99 liter engine.  The 599 replaced the 575M Maranello (2002-2006).
