It is to the CLS-Class launched by Mercedes-Benz in 2006 that we owe the recent infatuation for this new type of car, namely the sedan-coupe.  Just as the name indicates, the CLS combines the look of the coupe with the roomy interior of the sedan.  The CLS is built upon the chassis of the E-Class of the W211 (2003-2009) generation.  In the hierarchy of commercialized cars within Mercedes-Benz, the price of the CLS-Class is positioned halfway between the E-Class and the S-Class.
