It is this sedan launched as a 2006 model car under the name Zephyr which is the entry model within Lincoln.  It carried the name Zephyr for only one year (2006) before it was changed to MKZ in order to follow the new nomenclature adopted by Lincoln (MKS, MKT, MKX, MKZ).  The MKZ uses the same chassis as the Ford Fusion which in turn, uses an adapted version of the Mazda6 chassis (Lincoln and Mazda being part of the Ford group).
