The R8 is a great sports car derived from the Lamborghini Gallardo (Lamborghini being owned by Audi/Volkswagen Group).  It is often compared to the legendary Porsche 911.  In order to maximize optimal weight distribution, the R8 sports a longitudinally mounted mid-engine.  The R8 is only offered with four-wheel drive.  Starting with the 2010 model year, a version will be offered with a V10 in addition to the R8 version sporting a V8.
